For most of my professional life I have been building things. Fifteen years as a carpenter, then software, and somewhere in there a paraglider, a couple of bands and a company or two.

I used to feel some pressure to connect all of it into one coherent professional identity. These days I am less worried about that. Curiosity turns out to be a pretty good connecting thread, and whether I am working on a product, learning something new, playing music or spending an afternoon in the mountains, it is usually the same basic urge to understand something a little better. The longer version is here.
